Law firm plays an important role to tackle and solve all the disputes and problems that a company faces in business process and business strategies. These days the corporate and business unit quietly depends on the law firm for their legal related issues and their solutions. Thus the corporate and the business people hire the law professionals as their legal advisor for their company and industries.
Law firm is considered as the source for the solution of court related issues for the corporate sectors. There is a provision having at least one legal advisor in a company and all the legal related discussions are taken with the consent of the legal advisor. Now days all companies wish for spreading their business empire within a short period of time but it has many court related issues. But the employment law firm serves for the employees, upholds employee’s rights and leaves a space for justice with the victim.
The days are gone when the law practitioners used to depend on the judiciary systems of the State to have service and loitering in the court campus. But these days the law professionals used to set up their law firm or being hired by the companies for the law related problems solutions with handsome package.

Stress in working women

Ladies are prone to fall in mentally sick due to stress in office and at home.

Woman’s health creates an impact the entire environment where she lives and works. The health issues arise due to mental tension, stress, depression and anxiety which is found in almost all the working women at office, running business and at homes. Now days, women are exposed to official jobs, commerce along with maintaining the private life in the society. It does not matter being married or unmarried, but everyone is going through the stress and depression through out the world. The materialism affects the human beings in the modern society so that a woman bound to step into jobs and some business to aid the family financially and to make herself economically independent in expensive world. But to be a multi tasking woman pays a lot in fact which creates problems in her health and mind, which leads to short life span.

Say it the proper utilization of education or to have education to join an office for money, woman invites pain and suffering to satisfy her ambition and craze. Being a multi tasking woman is too tough to handle well and properly. Always there is a chance to hear allegation and receive harassment both from the family and the work place. If she is a single by status her problem doubles by which she tends to some addictions like alcohol, drugs, tobaccos and dirty habits. By using alcohol and drugs she faces difficulties in pregnancy and productivity in work. An excess work pressure and dissatisfaction in job pushes her to the depression for which she becomes imbalanced mentally and prefers to be addicted to bad things. If she is a married woman she is the victim of all the responsibilities and duties both at home and office so that she goes through depression. Neither her family understands her problem nor the boss at office for which she gets headache, aches in body, irritation, frustration and weakness.

Stress is no doubt a psychological disease but it affects health and creates lots of physical problems. These days women are running to doctors and browsing websites to get rid of stress and depression but nothing works really until self realization takes place in mind. Some experts insist for Yoga, exercises, travel, and some pills with balanced diet. But all these things never have been effective for all the working women in stress because of the problem of time management and self consciousness. The so-called multi tasking modern women are knowingly or unknowingly moving on stress due to various reasons that they may be ignorant of, like lack of family support and encouragement, colleague behavior and boss temperament in office, dissatisfaction from spouse and in laws, children rough behavior etc create havoc in their mind for which they fall in mentally sick and develop health in critical condition.

The hectic lifestyle of today brings stress and sickness for the women alluring the materialistic pleasure and high salaries. Always stress remains in disguise and gets erupted when a woman disturbed and dissatisfied with the job, job environment and an environment she stays. To be a mother with job is further difficult task to maintain. The children of the family should have good ideals and environment to grow up in the shadow of mother’s love, which the working mother used to fail to provide the proper care and teachings that her children need from her in infancy. And as children grows up their behaviors and lifestyle become more irresistible. Consequently, a mother gets suffering and mentally depressed and all her realization goes in vain.

Therefore, self-awareness is required for all the women who are in job and running independent business. To take a proper care is indeed a challenging task in the busy society but women have to realize first before they take care of others and service. If a son becomes mentally healthy then his father gets benefited but if a girl becomes mentally healthy, entire family gets benefited. So, choice is in our hand, what to do and how to manage everything, God gifted life that is health is wealth.

The key to have great web content

Focus idea, gather words, and build a perfect content

Words are the most powerful things if it is communicated effectively. Content- the website written words are considered as an authentic these days for the computer and Internet savvy people. If wrongly written and badly presented the content will never satisfy the target visitors. The words may look disgusting and divert visitors’ attention and make them to click on back button or close button and look for another site. The content, the data and updated information in the website are all digital idea which is also a part of communication. The content and its words are meant for the communication with a goal to catch the attention of target visitors who seek for the information.

Everyday millions of people use search engines, and the website writers are writing according to the standard of search engines, unless their site cannot come on the 100 list of page ranking. But the SEO/Content writers may ignore the visitor in disguise in fact. Content is only meant for the visitors not the website owner or the company head. The job of a SEO is to optimize the content for how the people search caring more about the key words or care words but not the theme and concept and the content. Sometimes the search engine will take you the website on the basis of target keyword but the visitor may not find the satisfactory content that he/she is looking for. So, what is the use of the keyword without having good and target content? Writing for the web is not the same as writing for the print. The key difference is that people use web for the specific information, and they are task focused. They want to do something as quickly and painlessly as possible. And clicking on the irrelevant result leads to frustration.

The business of content is to give the attention and get the attention both. But these days the practitioners are all giving the attention of the clients and more projects to come for their companies. This is not a fare idea. Remember, if content is the king, people is the God. What is the need of search engine if it will not give the proper and perfect information through content? The tragedy also lies with the bloggers too. These days the bloggers also doing and following as per the SEO to get their blog on the 10 list of search engines. But all are lacking the one thing that is perfect content. As a result the Internet savvy people are getting more irritated while going through various websites and blogs.

You cannot have a great content if you don’t have great thinking. Thinking involves asking questions like:
1. What is the task?
2. Who is it for?
3. Do they actually care?
4. What is the best way to write about it?
5. What can I learn from the last time I did it?

Writing content is not everyone’s cup of tea. This needs creativity, good focus, and to deliver the idea at its best to the people. I have noticed people from various educational background used to blogging, doing some write ups to promote their products and services, rather having a read worthy content. They find Internet and blogs or websites are the perfect medium for the marketing. But indeed, they are mistaken. If the content is not finely written, presented and appealing to the readers then, the visitors will definitely click on the close button.

There is no rule for creativity but the content writers must follow certain things to have target audience and to have their content get attention too.

1. Sharpen your idea and focus it
2. Write with appropriate keywords that catches the readers
3. Write some phrase that your reader may like
4. Write simple word that is understood easily by all the visitors
5. Don’t use jargons
6. Make it clear the concept don’t confuse your readers
7. Content should be based on proper and thorough research and analysis
8. Write for the common visitors not for the client
9. Give importance to the reader to have feedback
10. Apply your thinking

A website can be a great resource for more detailed content. It is not always appropriate that less is good and more is disgusting. But whatever you write the content should give a perfect idea and proper information. Lastly the content should not be ruled by put-it-uppers (web administrators) but take-it-uppers (Editors).

HIV test mandatory for pregnant women

Pregnant women to go through HIV test

HIV positive is the matter of thought worldwide as it ruins an entire family. Particularly for pregnant women who are going to produce another life are seriously under the threat of HIV. The most deadliest HIV positive virus AIDS spares nobody who comes across with blood contact by the patient AIDS- an blood contact disease transmitted from the source to an involved being and then affects the future being. It acts like slow poison in the body and kills everyone who is affected by the virus.

HIV test has been mandatory for pregnant women in India as passing AIDS virus from mother to child is a human rights violation. The parliamentary forum on HIV and AIDS has informed strictly to all the pregnant women to go for HIV test and have clear cut knowledge about the safety of upcoming children. The mandatory implementation by the government in India may result positive and provides upcoming baby’s safety. HIV free generation can only be possible by the strict and serous government’s efforts and the general awareness of men and women. This is an act of human rights violation if HIV positive virus affects a newborn baby, and this is of course a danger and threat to the future generation in the world. The government of all the countries tries to stop to establish an AIDS free world, HIV AIDS whose medicine is still under the experiment by the scientists worldwide but time knows whether the human kind will get the success in his research.

Therefore preventive is better than cure formula is the key to have HIV AIDS free baby. The pregnant women having affected by HIV virus should be consoled and it is the duty of her family head to take her to doctor and to be treated properly to get rid of the future problem for new born baby, because an innocent new born should not suffer without committing any sin at all. Thus the parents should be aware of this thing and should not make their upcoming child be victim of the incurable disease.

The generation without HIV AIDS is only possible if the virus is detected and tested in every single pregnant woman before delivery. Of course, it will take time but the government and non government organization’s campaign against HIV AIDS will surely bring some effect for the new born baby who is about to be afflicted by HIV positive virus in its mother’s womb. India is having 2.5 million HIV positive people and thousands of children babies are born with HIV positive signs from their mothers.

All we need:
1. Strong political leadership to HIV prevention
2. Set up of HIV test centers and care and treatment to be provided either freely or cheaply.
3. The awareness to be made by the ground level of administration
4. Government and NGO’s effective campaign
5. Effective media campaign

HIV AIDS can be controlled somehow by an implementation of strong political polices, public awareness and projects done properly by the medical experts. The mission to dictate HIV AIDS in the pregnant women and to eliminate the virus from the newborn baby can be successful if an entire human society will proceed for the HIV free generation.

Come and see the expensive models

Tata is thinking to put these models on the ramp only.

While the entire world moving through economic recession the business tycoon in India Tata motors has launched two most luxurious cars to the frustrated and worried people of India as well the world. It seems something like making mouth-watering expensive sweets on the road but consumer fails to have this because of the tight budget. Well done, Ratan Tata! Three months after launching Nano, the world's most inexpensive family vehicle at the Rs.1 lakh, Tata Motors launched in Mumbai the iconic Jaguar and Land Rover cars, to cost between Rs.63 lakh and Rs.92 lakh in India.
Ironically, Tata Motors posted a net loss of over Rs.2, 500 crore last fiscal mainly on account of this acquisition, apart from the economic crisis that has hit the auto sector globally. Tata Motors chairman Ratan Tata said initially, three Jaguar and two Land Rover models would be available in the country. But, confusion is running into my recessed mind that for whom these cars are meant for! For Indians! Certainly not. Perhaps Mr. Chairman of Tata Motors has forgotten his native land India. The second largest populous country has no space for shelter and is expected to grow in economy in such condition where the employees are forced to leave their jobs. Even high salaried and experienced professionals are loitering on the road being jobless.
While Jaguar models will be available in the price band of Rs.63-92 lakh, the Land Rover will be in the Rs.63-89 lakh range. They will be available in five-six cities after checking out the response in Mumbai. Finance options will be available from Tata Motors; Tata thinks that the cars will exhibit the levels of technology and levels of performance. I think Mr Tata has not seen and analysed the Indian roads particularly the metros and other cities where people don’t have garages to put their vehicles into and no space for parking even costly vehicles are meant to tolerate all the seasons beneath the sky. And the local government body forgets to repair roads and fly overs, the four wheeler riders get irritated to drive on the road due to traffic jam but Tata dreams to see his cars to hit in Mumbai first. Of course, the Bollywood personalities will go for these luxurious cars for the brand ambassador. No doubt Nano is the product of his interest to see most of the Indians riding Nano instead of scooters, but these days who dares to have such expensive cars that recently launched in the market?
Jaguar-Land Rover chief executive David Smith said, 'The Indian market holds significant growth potential in the long term, and he hopes to tap the demand for premium vehicles from discerning customers,' The challenge is to establish the brands here,' he said. Of course the brand will be established in India as Bollywood exists here and the so called models will run for the sale promotion of the cars but that all will be confined into media only. Only the Billionaires and Millionaires and the political power-enjoying people will approach who are living in tight security and not tensed about traffic jam.
The company has invested over 800 million pounds to make the vehicle more eco-friendly with features like aluminium body and reduced carbon-dioxide emissions.Tata has acquired Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Co. for $2.3 billion in March last year.
No doubt, this dream project will come true outside India and Tata will be clicked on in the developed countries. But, here people are happy with tiny Nano and other small cars on the clumsy road. Features like less maintainace, more mileage, less fuel consumption and liquid gas use in the cars attract our middle class Indian people. Because as I said on the above and the most expensive luxurious vehicles are just like making best qualitative sweets on the road to the daily passer-by who is victim of the scarcity. He can afford one Rasgulla or local made chocolate but moves on looking back few times to see the expensive ones. He is entitled to watch ‘n’ enjoy only rather than use ‘n’ enjoy.

LTTE vs. India

Whether India plays against violent Organization or for it!

At last, the war that was declared and continued for few months back against LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) and its supporter Tamil Civilians in Sri Lanka was ceased after the report and instruction of UN. Now, the Sri Lanka’s Ceylon-Tamils will take a long relief breath because the whole Tamil community as well as entire Indian politics and also UN back up is behind them. Definitely, this is good news for the present working Indian government as its general election is going on and such attempt to cease the war will collect huge number of votes, which will again lead this exploitive government and cheap political leaders’ ambition come true. I think Indian politics and its government are meant for looking for the vote bank only. And this is the responsibility of all the leaders and representatives towards their political parties respectively. And the development commitment and the written Parties’ principles and duties are confined to the pen and paper only. After all, Indian people are emotional, blind, illiterate, irresponsible and daunting; they don’t understand what is happening around them rather busy with their own business and when the time of election comes they will run after the political parties leaders who will provide them wine, flesh and erotic satisfaction and our so called youth will run after the campaigners with political slogans, banners and leaflets to collect huge amount that they would never have in their daily lives before.

Any way, this trend needs another millennium to be ceased down. I am discussing the political mindset and interest behind this LTTE, another terrorist group in northern, eastern region of Sri Lanka. Some, experts or critics will criticize to call this Tamil Military organization as terrorist too. But, their action, past records proves so. Now India is blaming the war against LTTE and Tamil civilians that the Sri Lanka government had declared. Its chief motto was to drive out LTTE militants and their supporters who are involved in illegal action and spreads violence inside the country. Well, I never regard such kind of action against LTTE as war, rather a mission or operation. But this was named as war. May be our journalists and political people don’t know the definitions of war, fight and operation. They all are civic, intelligent and most educated fellows, I don’t have right to criticize them. I think this so called war is the internal decision and matter of Sri Lanka. Every nation has right to promote and tighten the internal security, and Sri Lanka was doing this by driving out such illegal militants and their supporters. But other countries especially India interfered in this matter. Why? Not to protect Sri Lanka Tamils but to collect votes by showing its artificial concern who are closely linked to about 60 million Tamils in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu across a narrow strait from Sri Lanka.

India’s persistent attempt in the form of hunger strike by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief Karunanidhi, criticism of AIADMK head Jayalalitha, communist parties and present coalition UPA government pressure brought the combat cool down but now India is playing a new game approaching Sri lanka to hand over Prabhakaran- the chief of LTTE and the master mind behind an assassination of the late India’s Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi for whose murder suicide bomber had been used for the first time in dark history of India. This fundamental Organization formed by the Sri Lankan Tamils guided by the then Prime Minister of Indira Gandhi and supported and fund provided by her son Rajeev Gandhi played a holi of blood by spreading massacre, bloodshed, bomb last and breakdown of internal security whose foundation was made with an aim to protect the Tamils in Sri Lanka government’s torture. When financial aid was obstructed from the government of India, the militants targeted its donor and killed Rajeev using technology. This proves the militants are masters in technology and science too. The Indian people have not forgotten that bloodshed that was played in Tamil nadu while Rajeev were addressing on the stage to the mass. Now, the question arises, why India is putting its mind into Sri Lanka’s internal decision? Only because the Tamils are humiliated! Where were those Tamils when Rajeev was exploded heinously? Where were those when their own Tamil brothers were tortured and victim of their own Organization? Now, these Indian Tamil leaders are shouting and condemning the military operation made by Sri Lanka in its own province. How mean and what kind of trait we have? Well, I am not concerned about nor pity of the burst of Rajeev’s physical and political existence because he was the founder of his own death. There is a saying in our local proverb: “jiye panche parara manda, ta manda panchanti Govinda” (God destroys him who plans to destroy others). As you sow so u reap. If you help the vice to progress it will make you out first. This is the feature of devil. And a noble man never takes part in vicious action. Now, the slain ex- prime minister’s family is collecting votes in his name that how he sacrificed his life for the country. This is called sacrifice! Oh, may be the modern definition of this term! Let them do so, because people are already fool, so it’s easy to make them fool more.

If the present situation will be analyzed it will appear more political, conspiracy and selfish interest of India and also its neighbor country Sri Lanka. Now, Sri Lanka did combing and military operation for the smash down or demolition of LTTE, why did it take this step before? Why was it sleeping during the Organization formation? Why did not it restrict the training ground on its own land? Because, LTTE was used to fulfill its own political desire before. When this treacherous organization showed its real face, Sri Lanka government applied military force to knock it down. Where is Prabhakaran now, nobody knows, the lead hero of Tamil militants is invisible, may be he has the power what Ravan had during Lord Ram incarnation! What a silly game? India’s demand is this fundamental terrorist hero Prabhakaran but not do any negative action towards Tamil in Sri Lanka. Why? This is election time, our political parties cannot take risk, unless they will spare votes in the south. But afraid of Prabhakaran, therefore, our military forces are deployed all around. What an administration under which we all are ruled? Our military is a government servant, it has no decision making power. At least I salute the US army who made a strong decision in world war-II applying nuclear on two cities of Japan who had destroyed Pearl Harbour and killed thousands of American lives. Of course, that applying nuclear weapon was certainly condemnable job, but they did it on their defense and protection of their countrymen. Because they were harmed, they did such thing whose consequence even they did not know. But look upon our defense department! In fact this department is coming under government employee scheme. So, they don’t have any fault. Our administration is so.

So, friends! Is not India is supporting LTTE in disguise? India is definitely number one in pretension and sycophancy not in anything else. It is unable to handle its own problems but stands first when its votes will be spoiled. It is incapable of facing simply a Naxalite’s action; it is talking of terrorists and LTTE. When our mind set will change and when we will rule ourselves? This is really a dream, I don’t know whether it will come true one day or not.

Alas Dr.! Your dream is dead along with you

Volunteerism dwells in commitment, and is made to be broken

This world is meant for change and continuity. But change does not mean contamination. This is a recent trend has captured and touched almost everything and dwells in everyone’s heart. And politics is such an abusive term now days we cannot get rid of this. This is now a source of breadwinner for most of the people in the form of sycophancy, diplomatic thoughts that contains only falsehood and deception. Its root is gone to the very deep that it cannot be easily rooted out. And few ideological and moral people are incapable to do this noble virtue. That’s why in a democratic country like India’s maximum people is despised to cast their votes and chose their representatives to be ruled and for the country’s development. Let us look at the gaiety of the so called patriotic National Volunteer Organization popularly known as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in our Nation which is an old Volunteer organization whose purpose is to serve the Hindus upholding vedic philosophy and Hindu ideology without any discrimination.
RSS founded in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, a doctor by his profession in Nagpur, was influenced by recent Hindu-Muslim riots in his town, and thus, formed the Rashtriya Swayemsevak Sangh aiming to protect Hindus by organizing together. An Organization that aims at preserving the spiritual and moral traditions of India .The primary goals of the RSS are a revival of Hindu tradition and to be an advocacy group for Hindus, whom they feel are being slowly marginalized due to alleged "negativity" in India and the acts of appeasement against them from the left-wing political parties and politicians in favour of extremist elements of other religious denominations. Their core ideology is based on Integral Humanism and Hindutva a form of Hindu Nationalism. These ideologies and vows are only limited in pen and paper, nothing is enacted nor executed provided their political interests and benefits. Otherwise the volunteers never do a single service if they are not instructed or ordered by the superior rank of the Sangh Parivar. Recent history records what this Sangh backed political party BJP did for Swami Laxamananada Saraswati who was heinously killed by Christian community – the slain Swami who was a holy soul had dedicated his life in service to the poor, neglected and tribal people who was converted to other religion with a little bit entice and hypocrisy. And now an entire Parivar is busy at the election campaign for the saffron party whom once it boycotted from its rallies in the tribute to the VHP slain leader. The BJP in Orissa behaved as if nothing has happened when Kandhamal was burning in communal riots after an assassination of Swamiji and his four associates. With an alliance government NDA (BJD-BJP led) BJP was busy with an enjoyment of power and sealed its mouth and did a good rapport with its alliance party BJD. When BJP got out from the power and driven out from an alliance government regarding the seat mutation, it aroused its voice that BJD betrayed them. In fact this party deserves betrayal because who is not trustworthy towards its basic principles and morality deserves such kick by others. Now the Sangh Parivar is campaigning for this exposed selfish political saffron party and appealing publics to cast their votes for BJP in Assembly and Lok Sabha election. They describe themselves as an "antidote to self-oblivion", and their goals as an attempt to inculcate Indians with the "A burning devotion to the Motherland (India), a feeling of fraternity among all citizens, intense awareness of a common national life derived from a common culture and shared history and heritage", as well as to "activate the dormant Hindu society (of India), realize its past mistakes, to instill in it a firm determination to set them right, and finally to make it bestir itself to reassert its honour and self-respect “Mission & Vision”. What rubbish! How it sounds! What kind of service to its motherland!
Again look at its burning political interest and also so called Indian media which even stand still if something wrong will be happening around the community. Rahul Gandhi involved in gang rape of Sukanya Devi recently-why Media & all silence over the issue? I don’t think public is informed about this fact! Yes, media, political leaders and its weak administration, all are aware of this but everybody is dumb and deaf now. Why? Because Rahul Gandhi- a Gandhi scion and congress party’s ultimate hope and game of chess who has the capability put the loop to its destination. After all, he has been titled into Gandhi- a big prestigious award, who dares say something against this rapist? Why BJP, Sangh Parivar, not making any statement! As the whole India jumped on Mangalore issue, what was right in fact! Now why all are silent for such a serious crime?
Rahul is surprised over Varun (who is right in fact!) now, who surprised us? This congress, anti-Hindu, now has been rapist of Hindu also! What this RSS has forgotten its responsibility! Whether the volunteers and their high command have forgotten their vows and commitment while joining in Sangh! Why this so called volunteer organization is blind to its related group’s felony and extending its supportive hands towards the irrational and worthless political party? Why? Only for the sake of donations! If the donation matters more to this Organization, why it is boastful of doing service to its motherland whereas it is not able to speak out the truth against the opponents and save womanhood who is an incarnation of Mother in fact? If it never saves a woman nor gives justice to her, it should leave its volunteerism crown from its head and should mingle with the polluted and corrupt political parties of India!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://chinmayee-articles.blogspot.com/2009/04/alas-dr-your-dream-is-dead-along-with.html' title='Alas Dr.! Countering the recent past of our honourable Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram who faced a shoe attack from a journalist at a press conference, is condemnable for the sophisticated and sycophants who always want to be the lovable and adorable in the eyes of politicians and diplomats. We can best deliver our view if we listen to our conscience and analyse an entire farce from a common countryman’s heart. Is it really condemned?
Well, if I shall be asked, I must say it is an action depicts no more chivalry in the present context. Many personalities condemns such act and few praises saying that the veteran journalist Jarnail Singh had the guts to hurl shoe at the big personality Mr. Home Minister at a press conference not caring of the consequences. Even some appreciates Mr. Chidambaram for carrying out his soft and pleasant face in the conference not showing his real reaction. There is no strange thing about this. Ladies, and gentlemen, this is politics. Don’t think that only politicians knows the politics, all the people who are related to politics they know it better than our so called leaders. So, how Mr. Jarnail singh will be exempted from playing politics! After all, he is also a political reporter. There is a folk talk: take credit building a temple or passing latrine on the road. This phrase accurately applicable in this case. Our leaders are doing the second act, not the first and so also our public following it. The Home Minister did not react naturally in front of the assembled journalists because election is on his head. “Please take him away, gently, gently, gently, doesn't matter, please settle down, please settle down,” a smiling Mr Chidambaram said And his natural reaction may bring sword for his little bit emotion. And the journalist’s action was not natural as he is not a rebel. If he is a rebel, he might hurl shoe at Chidambaram’s face directly; he threw but the Minister was not hit. How a throw was missed! That journalist friend might not have played cricket nor gulli in his childhood. These two personalities are not pure as their action and reaction are not natural. If somebody will be hit then the attacker wills no more be left easily in such a corrupt and polluted world. Because neither Mr. Home Minister is Mahatma Gandhi nor the Journalist is Nathuram Godse.
In fact I am surprised of people’s comments on this issue. There is nothing to make a comment on such action. We are making forum because we never had experienced such thing before in India particularly. We have seen politics in a simple manner but the time has already come and played its innings that politics is playing politically and diplomatically in every row. After all we are living in a globalized world, nothing Indian, nothing alien. Everything is global. History records that how Mr. George W. Bush, an Ex President of US had been hurled with two shoes by an Iraqi Reporter at a press conference in President’s visit to Iraq for the last time during his tenure. And Mr. Attacker was imprisoned for three years. We found the same unnatural reaction from our Indian Home Minister’s case. And the subject matter as much same as the shoe hurling at Mr. an Ex President of US. My dear journalist friend is speaking of an issue of Sikh riot in 1984 after an assassination of then powerful woman Prime Minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi who was killed by her own bodyguards who were Sikh by religion after pushing military force into the Holy Golden temple with a suspect of terrorists. The shoe attacker was asking about the judgment happened to those whom the government investigation proved against two leaders from the minister's Congress party accused of leading rioters against Sikhs in 1984. And the Home Minister was skipping his question and showing disinterest to give answer. How a senior journalist is short of temper! After all he is a journalist by profession, he should control his temperament as Mr. Chidambaram did at press conference. But, I must say, everyone wants to be on news now days. It is something walking the ramp in fashion show. Well, Mr. Chidambaram had not expected to come on news in this manner as he was addressing the press meet like Mr. Bush was doing during his last visit to Iraq during his rule. What happened, its all of sudden, they are not predicted, unless they would not prefer such insult or welcome because they are big political powerful personalities, media is running after them and always on alert to cover their speech and statement. But, yes, these journalist friends both Iraqi and Indian wanted to create news and be focused by media living in media profession. Isn’t that so!
What a cheap and irrational politics and thought this is! We are talking ourselves smart, modern and civilized people and having narrow ideas to rule and be flashed. Not only Mr. George W Bush was insulted in Iraq, he also lost power in election. It is a kind of hurling shoes on his face by his citizens of US. Let me see what is happening to Mr. Chidambaram as his examination is on his head. I wish all the best to him and also the journalist friend who is accused and charged. But I must say one thing that our people are not equal to the people of US. They concern for their country, but Indians! They all are living in their selfish desires, if money, mutton and wine will be thrown at them, their judgment will vary accordingly at one night. What will be the future of my Nation then if its countrymen and women will behave like this? So, best of luck to my country too for the coming period!

Religion!
Encountering the present scenario on the society gives the current and coming condition of the modern India- a country, lack of spiritualism; a country, lack of humanity; a land, lack of pardon; a mother lack of sacred children. Now, religion stands as a weapon, a social status, a formula, and it swims into nothingness. India used to be the central point at the door of Universe for its morality, ideas, ancient cultures, its scriptures, characters and what not! Dwelling in the 21st century, India now becomes the matter of attraction for its modern dominated concepts in the eyes of its both the citizens and international diplomats and statesmen. It may be the murder of Religious leader swami Laxmanananda Saraswati or the communal riots. Always we are on the top may be in the crime or stupidity.

The heinous murder of Swamiji and the communal riots in the poor State like Orissa, are the matter of discussions now days. These two issues prove inefficiencies of the law and order as well as people’s understanding of the religion and the vested interest of the politicians in the name of religion. But the national and international media have been reporting on the surface level of the matter of that remote area like Kandhamala. Nobody tries to go through the ground level, look into the truth. The questions arise who killed the Swamiji? Why? And why is the riot for long days? Well, the police have done its duty by arresting three accused that allegedly are the employees of an NGO World Vision. Swamiji was known for his holy preach and was playing the role in re-conversion to Hinduism from Christianity. Ant it was supposed to be the chief factor for his murder. That may be true. But, recently Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda gave his statement that his Organization is responsible for the Swamiji’s murder, which mixes the twist in the story. It means Christianity is such a dominating powerful Organization that anybody can come forward to save it and protest against all its hindrances. The powerful countries like France, and USA are condemning the torture on Christian people of Kandhamala that brought fire in Karnataka and Kerala. The strange thing is Mr. Prime Minister of India is unhappy along with France and USA President regarding the matter but he is unable to speak the reason behind the Swamiji’s murder. Now, he is under the pressure to bring president rule to Orissa for tackling the violence. The leader who is incapable to handle the terrorism attack in many parts of the country, he is talking about State’s Chief Minister’s failure and incapability. Shame on that leader who has named himself the Prime Minister of India under the shadow of a non- religious woman Sonia Gandhi!

Thanks to the French journalist François Goutier who tried to reveal the real story on the murder, religion conversion, the poor people’s helplessness and the missionary people’s methods of social service in the rural belt of the State. Why the prime minister did not arise his voice when the Sikh people were restricted in putting on their turban, which is the sign of their religion, and when protested, the French police tortured them? When asked to Mr. Sarkozy, the French President he said, it is nothing big than the torture of Christian people in India. Our hon’ble Prime Minister was pleased with such statement. If the communal violence will be visualized, it is definitely the matter of condemnation. If a woman is seduced or raped openly on the ground in front of the mass, it certainly is an inhuman act that any body must condemn. If a woman is burnt alive, that accused should be hanged till death. Such violence should be knocked down and the people should be strongly punished who is involved in such action in the name of religion. Because religion never teaches violence, conspiracy and politics. Religion is purely a personal matter and a way to salvation.

The national and international media highlights the communal violence. It condemns the torture of the minority by the majority. Well, Kandhamala is under developed and illiterate remote area of Orissa where the Christian people are coming under the majority group and not the Hindu. And it is by conversion of the religion of the schedule castes who are still enjoying the Government’s reservation policy even they are converted to Christianity. And the Christian pana are boast of their religion and social status and dominating the tribal Hindu who are kui by their tribal community. The kui community Hindu people believes in two concepts either love or hate. The present communal violence is not a recent phenomenon rather a series of unspeakable torture, pathos and incidents that was exploded after the religious Guru’s murder. The violence was a local matter before his murder and now it is the international issue. So, here the question arises, who is minor and who is major? Why the national and international leaders are not coming to see the real picture of Kandhamala who are talking about the communal violence in the Air-conditioned room? Because Christianity is an internationally recognized reputed international religion, everybody will speak in favour of the religion, whatever its missionaries people do and be involved in an irrational and unacceptable ideas like conversion act. And the consequence of the protest is the open to everyone now. It results murder, abduction, seduction and lots of unspeakable torment on the opponents. The villain are nowhere but the by-product of the selfish desire. The two heroes for the missionaries but two machiavellian of the whole conspiracy in the Kandhamala conversion process that brings violence among the two communities both schedule castes panas and schedule tribes kui, are present but out of policemen’s reach. Those masterminds also belong to schedule caste pana before converted to Christianity were socially well-designated civilian people on the posts like IAS and IPS officers. The duo brothers have been retired from their government services but not from the missionary service who had got selected in the IAS and IPS in 1962 and 1965 respectively on their reservation basis before converts. Now these brothers are the dominating and inspiring talent in their so-called Christian pana community. Everybody knows the truth but acts as if nobody knows anything. What rubbish! Such is our administration! Such is our perception! How mean we are to satisfy our ego and vested interest! How weak our citizens! They tend to tolerate the terrorism and mental disease like religion conversion. Because they are taught to be secular. What kind of secularism it is! It does not mean that one individual cannot be converted by force or by entice or by misery from his original religion. The constitutional laws are there but these are not meant to be executed. Constitution is in its secured place, laws are on the pen and papers and executions are in the hand of dominating people.

The victims seem to be helpless and hopeless too. Their destinies are evolving around uncertainties. Because the vicious virus are enjoying the pleasure of heaven in the society, unless the conspirator of the violence is not invited for the discussion to establish peace and harmony in Kandhamala despite being punished! It seems as if human being’s happiness depends on such criminals that is everybody’s birth right- to be happy and live well. Adopting a religion is one’s personal choice but now it has been a political choice to satisfy the self interest in which the violence what we call the communal violence is born and ready to run a long run without full stop.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://chinmayee-articles.blogspot.com/2008/10/religion-religion-religion-what-is.html' title='Religion! Something that is exposed or something that is hidden or anything that is yet to be discovered or vice versa! In search of truth, the police used to waste their time and energy, the lawyers make brainwash of the accused or the witness. To reach out a single truth, how much we do investigation, analysis, blueprints and what not! But to be very honest, honesty is passé. It is no longer fashionable and it sounds bitter to our ears in the modern era. Everybody is rushing to hide the truth. Now people say, come on, speak out the truth! It implies, do speak/ write that will be pleasant to my ear that will be acceptable.
Once I had attended the written test in PTI office. I rolled my eyes over the questions. I found one question very funny: why do you want to join PTI? My eyes got winked for a while. That test was being done for the Fresher/little experienced candidates. I was puzzled at the question and thought what to write and how to write! Because I did not want to give any flattering answer and an honest answer will be rejected. This is an instance even media tries to put the sycophancy in the main stream of life. Of course, PTI is a well known news agency and the candidates were all freshers and the test was conducted for the recruitment of Trainee and Probationary Journalists. What is the justification of asking such question? The candidates had come because they need a job. Even few candidates might have come to face the test for the first time before beginning a professional career. But such question sounds as if a big position is being offered to a socially reputed or a lofty leader. This is the latest trend of question format that each organization follows. Such instance clears that we are forced to speak/ write an unnatural thing that is to conceal the truth. Because truth is always bitter and nobody intends to face the acrimony in the fashionable formal world.
One interesting thing caught my attention that is the report on the saint Sri Asharamji Bapu. He is a very dignified; religious a d spiritual monk comprises millions of followers. He has been alleged in the land- grabbing case, even user of black magic to make things happen. It is reported that he used black magic to kill two local media barons and four of his former colleagues. Such allegation must make Bapu’s followers violent. But, what is the real thing behind it? The accusation is made by the tantrik and fake monk Sukhram with the solid evidence. Should we believe it? On the other hand, Bapu is the most adorable Guru in the current phase. His followers claim calling it falsehood to spoil an image of a spiritual giant. Is it justified?
Now, the assassination of a religious leader Swami Laxamanananda Saraswati is triggering violence in Orissa. He was allegedly killed by ten gun men on the eve of Lord Sri Krishna Janmastamee evening. The administration and the government and the social cadre group VHP are on the edge of confrontation. The government suspects and colour the incident done by the Maoist where as the VHP and their allies claim it the condemned action of Christian Missionaries. The State is on the fire as the VHP and Sangh pariwar seem to be devil towards the churches, missionaries and Christian community. Two things may be analyzed: the government does not want to claim the missionaries as it is a matter of anti secularism. The government can not take up the risk as the election is ahead, so simply said, this is an action by the Maoist who is socially and nationally regarded as the local terrorist in the forest and poor regions, even if such action might be made by the missionaries. Secondly, the Sangh pariwar is accusing the Christian community as the church head and the missionary people are converting the Hindu people into the Christianity and providing the cow slaughter and exporting to other states, against which the Sangh pariwar is working on. So, what is the truth? Where does it lie? Are such denunciations justified! Everybody is moving into their vested interest. No one would like to dig and churn up the matter. The group people speak what they like to listen.
Yes, this is what we call sycophancy. Its network is like Airtel- express yourself but in a tactics that will please the organizer, conductor, or certain dominating groups. We don’t follow the truth but follow sycophancy. This is the only thing that makes our lives better not bitter.
Chinmayee Dash

Om Namah Shivaya!

Not Amarnath shines; Amarnath shrine shines
By Chinmayee Dash
Harhar Mahadev! The echo never comes from the pilgrims’ lips on the way to Amarnath Yatra, but vibrates the entire Kashmir valley from the mouth of the mob and the agitators. Of course, time changes, so the devotion has been turned into violence with the passage of time. Consequently, the pilgrims, the devotees and the monks who are coming far away from the states for the sacrosanct journey to have a darshan of the ice lingam, become the victim. The Amarnath shrine board is riddled and a matter of controversy, at last.

The day, the journey towards the cave in the Himalayan glacial valley was considered and set an instance of the national integration with combined effort of both Hindu and Muslim, is now on the fire. As politics has extended its wings in almost all sphere of life, it finally touched the religion, the matter of faith. The Amarnath cave is believed to have the live idol of lord Shiva along with goddess Parvati and Sri Ganesha, has been surrounded with lots of allegation and accusation. The Jammu and Kashmir government had decided the forest land transfer to the Amarnath shrine board for the better communication for the thousands of devotees, but his action turned to the politics as the state comprises the Muslim voters, the majority group of people. It has to believe that the Hindu lords always part of the controversy time to tome. In 2007, the Shree Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) Chief Executive Officer reported that the Shivalingam was melted because of the high temperatures. However, other formations representing goddess Parvati and Sri Ganesha were intact. Some people blamed human interface, while others blamed global warming as the reason. The lingam’s natural height has been found decreasing over the years. The 12 feet high formation has now shrunk to 6 feet and sometimes even lower. Later, the SASB chief described it is as a natural phenomenon and the size of the lingam depends on weather conditions. The media also carried various reports alleging that the lingam had been tampered with. However, the Gupta Commission, which was set up to investigate the allegation, and ruled out any tampering with the holy lingam. This year, the controversy shifted to the land transfer to the SASB. The government of J&K issued an order on May 26, 2008 the leased 39.88 hectares of forest land in the Sindh forest division to the SASB. As per the lease condition, the land was transferred for making temporary camps for pilgrims. Some Environmentalists opposed the order and argued that the transfer of the land would adversely affect the ecological balance of the forest area. But, the issue rapidly became political. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which has its base mainly in the Kashmir Valley, quit from the Congress lead coalition government in the state, while the BJP protested against the PDP’s opposition to the land transfer. The Bajrang dal and the VHP joined the saffron party and created a political melodrama. Those protesting against the transfer attacked pilgrims and the government and more than couple of people were killed, many got injured. Subsequently, the government had to pay dissolving the House in the state. Now, the analyst says that some foreign aid is doing its best for violence to happen in Amarnath case.

So, in democracy, neither people are secured nor their lords. As democracy is a political idea, so everything is getting political including religion, mythology, knowledge and what not! Devotion is something associated with the hardship. As there is no pain and no gain method rules our thought since the myth days, the ancient people set an example. In the modern era too, Sabarimala in Kerala where devotees are doing all the hardship; the Bolbom devotees during the rainy season to offer water on the top of the Shiva lingam; even the great devotee Salabeg of lord Jagannath, though Muslim by community, all set marvelous examples. A true devotee prefers pain rather tan comfort on the way to the God. Amarnath is the supreme lord in Hindu mythology whose journey is believed to be very perilous, painful and life threatening. He was there in the beginning of the Universe and He will be forever. In the earlier days devotees were having their darshan and they will too. So, why this violence is! The union of a devotee and God is eternal. Nobody can cease it from its affair. The problem lies in the advertisement. The government is always in hurry in filling up its treasury, so he is enticing people in the name of faith and devotion to make a trip to Amarnath. In the world of advertisement, people in the mask of devotees want service which is comfortable and easy going. Thus, the administration steps towards the comfortable trip for the thousands of people to Amarnath by occupying the forest land which is considered as the graveyard of Muslim community, to make a good communication in roads, the telecom service, the passengers’ halts, health service and so on.
Although, the trip is for temporary period, begins in June, with the formation of ice lingam till the shrinks of the idols on the full moon day of Shravan (Rakhsabandhan), the government is investing a huge amount with a risk. The Amarnath land transfer issue has communally polarized the J&K province. It is all right, the concerned government should do the best for the pilgrims, but faith and devotion are not coming under the territory of the government. If the Yatra will be smooth, what is the justification of devotion? Amarnath is not something like any picnic spot, a tourist place or an entertainment venue; so, what the soothing ride for! It is the devotee’s highest destination to have unique darshan of God; it is not an entertainment show. Those who are real devotees, they should drink the physical pain and overcome the difficulties. If you want a rose, you have to come across the thorn. This is the law of everything. Neither government action nor its interference is required to satisfy the inner spiritual urge. Mind it, the Amarnath shrine board is political, but Amarnath is spiritual, devotion an abstract idea and the journey is not smooth. Of course, it has the soothing effect after reaching at the destination with pure heart and dedicated work. And dear pilgrims, what you want; a smooth ride or a divine bliss! Choice is yours.

Media Deserves Globalisation

Let the media name itself as Occident in Orient

Think modern but be traditional at heart. But how many people do follow it up? Either get modern or traditional. One may pick up one because these ideas are as contrasted as the two shores of a same ocean. Recently, the secular government’s decision to have foreign news and current affairs published in the form of Indian edition, has brought intrusion in the political parties, media houses, and opinion and policy makers. They fear it will have negative impact on media’s right to freedom of expression. The government must have thought of the term globalism globally. An era, where everything gets turned into global right from the communities to food product, language to industries, education to administration, why media industry will be exempted? The business tycoons are promoting and expanding their empires worldwide in the name of globalisms, so what about media? It should follow that trend too.
But, the objection is coming from all spheres of administration. The analysts and the opinion leaders as well as the Editors of some media houses opine for more discussion regarding such decision with the government before moving ahead. Particularly Indian politics always depends on national and regional media rather than international publications. The Indian press has a national concern. It is an extremely sensitive matter and therefore it should be decided after careful scrutiny. And few political leaders are confined into their habit of politicizing each issue. Even some media leaders too are not banished from the criticism and they directly show our constitutional act that Indian media has been protected by the right to freedom of expression under article 19 (1) A and Union Cabinet’s resolution of 1955 stipulating editorial control in news magazines should vest with Indian citizens. This resolution should not be diluted. If investment is in foreign hands, editorial control will also go to them. It should remain under Indian control. Further, advent of foreign media will create suffocation for the regional media; the autonomy of the local media will suffer and degraded. In US South America and some European countries, foreign control on press is not allowed. In several countries, only citizens of that particular country can control the media. Once the foreign media enters, foreigners can easily control the content and the democratic set- up.
Well, these entire buzz are coming from the irrational politicians and professionals who are under the belief of sycophancy and selfishness. The multiple faced people are the real threat to the country India. They are stating of ownership pattern of the media organization, where there is nothing to call up as the own in the country even the name – India. It is not the name that ancestors have put or discovered. It is the alien force who addresses us as Indian not Hindustani or Bharatiya. We have no right to name our country too. We are the subaltern, the other, race who is named as Oriental. Everything gets global in the world besides our culture and set of belief. Globalisation focuses only the alien culture, their investment, technology, mind, fashion and takes priority on our soil. This is all about globalisms. How many foreign countries do follow and adopt our mind and our thoughts, not a single. This is an era of so called globalisms where people are adoptive and recipient in each sphere of life.
Now the press and media are considered as the industry type. If all the industries like education, IT engineering, pharmaceuticals, mining, agriculture, banking, accountancy and many more are getting globalised ; lots of foreign investment is being done, lots of INCs are taking their position, why not media? It is also an industry. If foreign media will be allowed, it will create lots of job opportunities for the media professionals on the basis of their skills, experiences and educational qualification. No doubt, it will dominate our regional and national media, but it should have some guidelines and laws as foreign companies of other fields have. Like other fields of service provides to be more professional , media industry will able to compete with others so that it will be more popular, well recognized right from the education to profession. The positive impact will make the people to be more aware of the current affairs, international news by which people will be global which is the recent trend that everybody follows. Never control our democracy rather it will promote a space for participation, awareness and our faulty administration will be exposed by the right judgment and analysis of both sides of the story. In the college syllabus, media students are aware of the term international communication and inter cultural communication. What is the worth of such teaching in the media college if we do not follow it? Such implementation can justify the global village. Then only we can think globally- the blend of modern and convention. It will be like the Occident move to the Orient. Though, we cannot judge ourselves,, we have no ability to know ourselves. It is better to be Orient and to follow them. Let the trend blow softly till the new era.

Posted By
Chinmayee Dash

Terrorism and violence- beyond community and class

All the Muslims are not the terrorists but a terrorist is a Muslim. This concept goes wrong after the discovery of the culprits behind the bomb lasts at theatres screening a controversial Marathi play in Mumbai. The State police found two more members of little known radical Hindu group in connection with the attack. One may recall the novel by Mahesh Duttani The Final Solution where he gas effectively defined the terrorism and mob. The writer says that violence and terrorism are not confined into a particular community. It never follows any class or caste of people. It is in the human psyche which impels them to commit and the Hindu and Muslims are nothing only the mask they are putting on according to the situation to fulfill their vested interest that is to spread violence.

The police says that the arrested two people are the members of the Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). However, the two organizations have disowned the culprits and claim that the Marathi play, Amhi Pachpute insults Hindu Mythological. It is a golden chance for the Maharastra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to point fingered at the Hindu group of organisations involved in the felony. In fact, the motto of the HJS is to unite globally has no head quarters or authenticity but has a strong online presence. It was formed when there was blasphemy as a solitary man who protested was attacked. With a view to protest against this entire worst thing towards the Hindu religion, the HJS was established by Sanatan Sanstha in Goa in 2002. it plays its role to protest the “anti- Hindu”, Hollywood movie The Love Guru, and anti- Hindu texts books for school children in Goa and saving Ram Sethu- the Adam Bridge.
Of course, criminals don’t belong to any religion. So why the riots, agitation, curfews are taking place in the name of communalism in each society? People know the fact but yet they blame each other. What do they want to justify? Each attack and explosion on each community whether on Hindu, Muslim or Christian, the master minds and the suicide bombers are not any Hindu, or Muslims or Christian. They are simply described as the terrorist who has no religion, but one mission to devastate the harmony and peace. The so called Jehadis perceive the Muslims in India are the coward as they use to attack their community people at the mosques on auspicious occasion in the social gathering. Even they are more dreadful to their own community people, how they will Hindus? In fact, these kinds of people create misconception in the name of religions both Hindu and Islam. Their motive is to deconstruct, demolish and degrade the humanity. As Mr. Duttani said they don’t come under any caste or breed. They are just putting the different masks on their face according to the situation to take the advantage or make their mission working and successful at the best.

By Chinmayee Dash

Long waiting unfolds celebration

The saffron party blossoms lotus in the South

Now, the planets are in order and shining on the saffron party. Again, the BJP has succeeded to knock down the congress and JDS and the queen of destiny showering its blessing to BJP to form its government without alliance in Karnataka State. This is the first time the RSS led saffron party to fix its flag in the south region where it is believed to have strong base of the congress and other regional parties. No doubt, after Gujurat Assembly election, Karnataka election keeps matter to the BJP and this is the time for no analysis, but has cheers, balle balle or something like that. And the chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa is the next powerful candidate in the party after Narendra Modi. The key to this lavish victory is an emphasis of the State issue like regional problem between Mumbai- Karnataka, and Hyderabad- Karnataka as well as the inflation in the country. Unlike issues such as Hindutva and communalism were downgraded in Karnataka campaign. Further, the choice of proper chief ministerial candidate who managed to touch almost all the assembly constituencies. As the victory indicates the birth of new lofty leader in the regional basis just like Modi but, Yeddyurappa is not interested beyond his state Karnataka unlike the Gujurat Chief Minister.

It is the collective campaign by the party president Rajnath Singh general secretary in charge of elections Arun Jaitley and star campaigner Sushma Swaraj besides L.K Advani which brought triumph winning 110 seats out of 224 in the Assembly election. It clearly proved that the fundamentalist group like RSS is slowly opening its wings into the southern part of the Nation. Again, the saffron party victory in Karnataka has enabled to create a smile on thousands of IT professionals. Because at least for 5 year, the state will have a static and stable government which will promote the stable, developed and suitable environment for the Software professionals in the IT hub like Bangalore- the state capital. The triumph is a turning point of the party and brings the total confidence to each candidate of the party who are ready for the coming Lok Sabha election and Assembly election in many a state. The whole credit goes to the citizen who took part in the election and decided to have a full majority government to avoid the coalition. And finally, people created a space for the BJP to examine the strategies developmental schemes and policies and initiatives in this tenure. No doubt, the candidates are the players in the electoral game; ultimately, people are judge and fortune makers of these players and delivered the verdict.

The campaign of Gandhi family went in vein as they said: to make Bangalore IT hub, it was Rajeev Gandhi’s dream. But, the result must have brought a kind of shock to the congress party. The BJP virtually swept the city with 17 out of 28 assembly seats. “Bangalore’s result shows that the people looked to BJP for solutions to the city’s problem”, said senior party leader. The dilemma of the city the party projected in a proper manner to the people that is the drains, roads and water have been the key issues. Whatever it may be, finally the judgment went with the party who was neglected once upon a time. People have been more cautious and meticulous about their decision and political right. The victory proves that the people need change for which the party was able to create a strong space in the south region. It got a break and opportunity to disseminate its ideology led by RSS and its supporter organization. Let’s see this confidence will be sustained or not in the coming day’s elections both in the Center and the States.

By Chinmayee Dash

Give the space, give us another state

The trend of partition is on the air

Now days the term freedom blocks the brain. What it really is? Revolution, agitation, mass rallies, or demand for partition, separation or division of the soil! Undoubtedly, it has an aesthetic value that the real freedom is the freedom from fear. But, the so called democratic people never understand this value as politics and diplomacy rule almost all sphere of the country. Out of these an improper administration and political system lead to the undemocratic response and underdevelopment- the dilemma of the States and the constituencies in an independent country whether it is in the form of the demand for Telengana State or Gorkhaland.

Both Telengana and Gorkhaland are the part of two developed States like Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, but people of these regions demand for the separate States. It clearly reveals that there is the lack of economic stability, credibility of the commitment done by the administrator, faulty execution of the developmental schemes for the tribal and people below poverty line. The factors are unlimited but one thing is obvious that the communities had participated in the National freedom struggle and supported Gandhiji, all want separation and partition as the formation of Pakistan is an outcome and perfect example of this genre.

One can analyze that the Jai Telengana Movement (JTM) once had been placed in the national headlines. The movement that evoked popular response in the Telengana region of Andhra Pradesh in 1969 is back to square one. The rise of Naxalites is the child of this movement which is spreaded over various parts of India now. Historically speaking, constitution of India has a provision, under Article- 3 which provides the creation of at least one dozen new States in the last 50 years. The provision empowers the parliament to alter the boundaries of any State, if such a demand is found to be democratic and popular. The only one point demand party, the Telengana Praja Samiti (TPS), began popular throughout the region and electoral support in the Lok Sabha election held in 1971. The party secured 11 Lok Sabha seats out of 14 seats, swimming against all currents entrenched in the Congress and electoral communists, from the Telengana region. However, the leaders and followers of the JTM failed to withstand the pressure tactics of the then prime minister Indira Gandhi and thus, yielded disgracefully. Later on, the party was merged with the congress as the congress leaders played a dubious role so as to crush the Telengana leaders. Obviously, the JTM raised the banner of revolt against the congress government both in Hyderabad and Delhi only to seek separate statehood for its region. Unlike the case of smaller states movement in India, the JTM was not about administrative convenience through reducing the size of Andhra Pradesh. It is ridiculous to treat the Telengana issue as an issue of size on administration of the region as is diplomatically raised by different political parties and groups like RSS. Telengana would be a state bigger thatn 16 of existing states in India today with a population that is more than one and half times that of Nepal, the Telengana state would be of 3.5 crore size. Unlike other three states were created by the BJP in the tear 2000 the state of Telengana does not require any special money for the construction of its state capital city, as the centuries old Hyderabad is located in the heart of Telengana itself. It is congress party which committed to form a separate Telengana and preached slogan Jai Telengana and won the election in 2004.

Similarly, the agitation in Darjeeling has focused once again on the issue of Gorkhaland. Darjeeling with its natural resources, scenery, a renowned centre for tea and tourism has been lifeless and occupied by the Armed force to controle the agitation forbidding another separate state formation. Of course, the tourism has been hampered and the tourists are scared, the three hill subdivisios of Darjeeling district- Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Kurseong have been closed down for an indefinite period by the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM). The GJM formed in 2007 has been raising the voice for the demand of Gorkhaland and has been holding protests and rallies in support of a state that is to be carved out of West Bengal. The GJM was foemed by Bimal Gurunga, earlier a councilor of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council. He was a close associate of Subhas Ghising, president of of the Gorkha National Liberation Force (GNLF). The two fell out in 2007 over the attempt to extend 6th schedule of status to Darjeeling. Under the 6 schedule of the Indian comstitution, certaian tribal majority areas are given autonomy in administration. While the GNLF wanted the 6th schedule status with enhanced poweres for the Hill Council, the GJM desires full statehood. The Center introduced the 6th schedule to the constitution amendment Bills in the Parliament in December 2007 but it was shelved. The demand for a separate administrative set up for Gorkhas of India was first voiced in 1907, when the premier civil society body of the Gorkhas, the Hillmen’s Association asked the British for an administrative set up separate from Bengal. In 1946 the then undivided communist party of India demanded that the Darjeeling areas to be constituted in an entity called Gorkhastan. The GNLF took up the issue in a big way from 1986. all these demands considered the ethnic, cultural and linguistic distinctions between the populations of Darjeeling and the rest of West Bengal. Under the West Bengal administration Gorkhas feel, Darjeeling has not developed despite being a world renowned centre for tea and tourism.

There are two major turns that the current demand for a separate state has taken that distinguishes it from the earlier demand. First, the map for the current Gorkhaland displays not only the three hills subdivisions of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong, but also Siliguri and parts of the Dooars that fall in Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri districts in North Bengal extending upto the River Sunkosh on the border with Bhutan. The GJM has managed not only to garner the support of Gorkhas in the plains but also the tribal people who form a substantial percentage of the population of Dooars. This has created a tension between the Bengalis of Siliguri and Gorkhas. Second, unlike earlier, there is an intellectuals push to the current demand for Gorkhaland. One of the impetuses for a separate state of Gorkhaland would be securing of their identity as Indians. Indian Gorkhas have long been misidentified as being citizens of Nepal and they feel a state of their imagination, therefore, does not only secure the economic development of the Darjeeling area but also the political identity of the over one crore Indian Gorkhas across the country.

These mass revolution and agitation whether it is demand for separate statehood Telengana or Gorkhaland, all are struggling for their rights. And the government’s incapabilities lead to the group of Naxalites, Maoists and ULFA for which the innocent people are the victimized. The Telengana tribal people are believed to join and participate with Lord Ram in the battle to defeat the evil force Ravan, where as Gorkhas participated in the Freedom Movement with Gandhiji and also joined the Subhas Bose Military troops Azad Hind Fauj in big numbers. Now, they are fighting for their true identity in a form of separate state. On the other hand, our democratic government is a blind, dumb and deaf and it only acts for its vested interest as the parliament election is on the head, the politicians have to collect the wealth and be economically strong for the coming days. Under such a situation, while Telengana people are confident about their performance announcing: “no force on earth can stop us from achieving a separate Telengana”, and the Gorkhas’s vibrant voice: “our land Gorkhaland, we all want Gorkhaland” make surprise to the rest of the people in the world. Is there any solution? Can we shake off our prejudice or are they in our psyche like our genes? Will we ever be free or ever locked in combat?

By Chinmayee Dash
